Chambal Fertilisers plunges on reporting net loss in Dec quarter

Chambal Fertilisers is currently trading at Rs. 77.05, down by 1.45 points or 1.85% from its previous closing of Rs. 78.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 78.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 79.45 and Rs. 76.50 respectively. So far 257177 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 118.50 on 09-Sep-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 65.90 on 25-Feb-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 84.70 and Rs. 76.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3202.72 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.10% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.14% and 21.76% respectively. 

Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals has reported results for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted a net loss of Rs 1.24 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to net profit of Rs 107.42 crore in the corresponding previous quarter. Total income of the company increased by 31.74% to Rs 1805.20 crore from Rs 1370.27 crore for the same quarter last year.

The company has suffered net mark-to-market (MTM) losses of Rs 22.39 crore and Rs 0.19 crore for shipping and fertilizer division of the company respectively, on dollar interest rate swap transactions to convert floating rates loans to fixed rates.
