Mangalore Chemicals surges as Vijay Mallya steps down from the board

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers is currently trading at Rs 89.10, up by 7.50 points or 9.19% from its previous closing of Rs 81.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 84.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 97.90 and Rs. 83.10 respectively. So far 257649 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 104.65 on 08-Oct-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 52.30 on 16-Dec-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 84.00 and Rs. 77.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1082.04 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 21.97%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 3.98% and 74.04% respectively.

Vijay Mallya had stepped down from Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers board with immediate effect. Mallya was facing a tough battle to retain control of MCF after rival Deepak Fertilizers had initiated a hostile takeover of the firm.
