Private lender Axis Bank has planned to strengthen presence in semi-urban and rural areas. The bank plans to make heavy investments to provide infrastructure in semi-urban and rural areas. Besides, the bank would also focus on its unsecured business portfolio including personal loans and doubling up credit card business. Axis Bank’s total retail lending size is about Rs 90,000 crore and unsecured business accounts for around 9 per cent of it.
Axis Bank has 2,505 domestic branches & extension counters and 13,146 ATMs across the country, as on 30th September 2014, the network of Axis Bank spreads across 1,686 cities and towns, enabling the Bank to reach out to a large cross-section of customers with an array of products and services.
