Welspun India rises as its arm enters into solar rooftop segment

Welspun India is currently trading at Rs. 375.85, up by 4.75 points or 1.28 % from its previous closing of Rs. 371.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 373.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 377.00 and Rs. 370.75 respectively. So far 14945 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 407.15 on 25-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 65.60 on 18-Dec-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 389.00 and Rs. 300.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 3766.56 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.32 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.80 % and 18.88 % respectively.

Welspun India’s business arm - Welspun Energy (WEL), has ventured into the solar rooftop segment by commissioning three projects. The projects have been set up to meet the captive power needs of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Ansal University and Medanta Medicity Hospital.

Meanwhile, Energy generated will help lower their thermal energy consumption, thereby reducing operating expenses.

Welspun India is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of bed & bath textile products globally. Its portfolio comprises wide range of home textile products such as terry towels, bed linen (basic bedding and decorative bedding) rugs and bathrobes.
