Andhra Petrochemicals surges on commencing production from Visakhapatnam plant

Andhra Petrochemicals is currently trading at Rs. 9.50, up by 0.40 points or 4.40% from its previous closing of Rs. 9.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 9.39 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 9.50 and Rs. 9.39 respectively. So far 2425 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B ' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 13.24 on 23-May-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 7.84 on 20-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 9.38 and Rs. 8.66 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 77.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.05 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 0.05 % and 54.89 % respectively.

Andhra Petrochemicals has commenced the production from its plant situated at Visakhapatnam with effect from December 04, 2014. The plant was shut-down with effect from May 26, 2014 due to cheaper imports of the company’s products, Oxo Alcohols.

Andhra Petrochemicals was established with a capacity to produce 30,000 MTPA of Oxo Alcohols at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The Plant has recently undergone an Optimization & Modernization Scheme to increase the capacity to 73,000 MTPA.
