Crompton Greaves gains on bagging contract from Belgian offshore wind farm operator

Crompton Greaves is currently trading at Rs. 183.65, up by 3.20 points or 1.77% from its previous closing of Rs. 180.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 183.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 185.45 and Rs. 181.50 respectively. So far 75,22,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 231.00 on 10-Sep-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 101.65 on 29-Jan-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 190.00 and Rs. 164.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 11,780.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.67% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 40.66% and 16.48% respectively.

Crompton Greaves (CG) has been awarded a contract from the Belgian offshore wind farm operator Northwind to provide operation and maintenance services for the 216 MW wind farm offshore substation on the Lodewijk bank, 40 km off the Belgian coast. This prestigious order follows a previous contract won by CG at the Northwind offshore wind farm for the grid connection study and supply of a 275 MVA main transformer and two reactors of 65 MVA.

The company will provide complete end-to-end services in order to effectively monitor, maintain and repair the offshore substation and ensure optimal availability and safety for ten years. The remote surveillance and monitoring service operated by CG will include power adjustments and will secure the operation of the Northwind installations on a 24x7 basis. In addition, CG will also provide preventive and corrective maintenance through its dedicated offshore specialized service team.
