Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh demanded the removal of Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, saying the party cannot win the elections in the state under the latter's leadership.

Singh said after his meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the national capital that the leadership is such that he can make the party win the the state and he don't think Bajwa can win this state for them and added that It is his duty to bring it to the notice of party high command, the Congress president and the vice-president. It is up to them to decide whether they want to win Punjab or not.

The former chief minister's remark comes in the wake of growing feud between him and Bajwa. Amarinder Singh, who failed to turn up during the Winter Session of Parliament despite being Congress' deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, is of the view that Bajwa should be removed from his post so that the party improves its performance in Punjab.
