Export of oilmeals drops 34% in December

The total export of Oilmeals during April-December, 2014 is reported at 1,841,523 tonnes compared to 3,190,438 tonnes i.e. down by 42%, as per export data compiled by the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India. In December, 2014, export of oilmeals is reported at 389,811 tonnes compared to 590,357 tonnes in December, 2013 i.e. down by 34%. Export of soybean meal greatly reduced in last 9 months due to total disparity for soybean meal in international market. Brighter side is the share of rapeseed meal has increased from 682,653 to 895,585 tonnes, while ricebran extractions export doubled in last 9 months.

Oilmeal import by South Korea from India during April-December is reported at 689,357 tonnes compared to 821,811 tonnes, consisting 389,974 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 297,639 tonnes of castor meal and 1,744 tonnes of soybean meal. Iran imported of 282,191 tonnes compared to 923,779 tonnes last year consisting of 140,400 tonnes of soybean meal and 141,791 tonnes of rapeseed meal. Thailand imported of 188,331 tonnes compared to 235,372 tonnes, consisting 181,484 tonnes of rapeseed meal and 6,847 tonnes of soybean meal.

Besides, Vietnam imported 216,712 tonnes compared to 162,670 tonnes last year consisting of 56,275 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 14,557 tonnes of soybean meal, 1,186 tonnes of groundnut meal and 144,694 tonnes of rice bran extraction. Taiwan imported 56,637 tonnes compared to 93,374 tonnes of last year consisting of 28,416 tonnes of rapeseed meal, 22,685 tonnes of castor meal and 5,536 tonnes of soybean meal. Europe imported 183,444 tonnes compared to 492,368 tonnes of last year.
