Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and the Bhartiya Janata Party's chief ministerial candidate, Kiran Bedi, filed their nomination papers for the forthcoming Delhi polls on Wednesday. While Kejriwal will contest polls from the New Delhi constituency, where he defeated three-time Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit in the 2013 assembly polls, Bedi is being fielded from the Krishna Nagar constituency, which is a BJP stronghold.

Meanwhile, Bedi paid tributes to Lala Lajpat Rai and also cleaned his statue in Krishna Nagar constituency and put a BJP scarf around the statue, to which the AAP chief objected saying she should not saffronize freedom fighters. Bedi is scheduled to file her nomination from Krishna Nagar today. The scrutiny of nominations will take place tomorrow, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 24.

Polling in Delhi will take place on February 7 and the counting of votes will be taken up on February 10
