During the ongoing kharif season 49,95,058 metric tonne (MT) of paddy has been procured so far from farmers under support price scheme in state of Chhattisgarh. The procurement which started from December 1 would conclude by the end of this month and the government had set up as many as 1,976 procurement centres.
The highest procurement of 508,535 MT was recorded in Mahsamund district followed by Janjgir- Champa at 4.73 lakh MT, Balodabazar-Bhatapara at 4.30 lakh MT, Rajnandgaon at 4.12 lakh MT and Raipur at 3.78 lakh MT.
Further, high procurement was also recorded in districts of Dhamtari, Durg, Raigarh, Bemetara and Bilaspur.
