Rupee trades flat on Wednesday

Indian rupee, after opening weaker, recouped all losses against the dollar to trade flat on Wednesday on account of positive local equities and selling of dollars by banks and exporters tracking foreign capital inflows into equity market. On the global front, the dollar rose against most of its major peers after Singapore’s central bank unexpectedly eased monetary policy before a Federal Reserve meeting concludes today.

 
The partially convertible currency is currently trading unchanged at Tuesday' close of 61.41. The currency touched a high and low of 61.52 and 61.40 respectively. The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) reference rate for the dollar stood at 61.46 and for Euro stood at 69.03 on January 27, 2015. While, the RBI’s reference rate for the Yen stood at 52.00, the reference rate for the Great Britain Pound (GBP) stood at 92.7676. The reference rates are based on 12 noon rates of a few select banks in Mumbai.
