CPI (M) to support AAP to counter Congress, BJP

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) pledged support to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly polls on those seats from where it is not contesting the elections, saying the decision is aimed at keeping the BJP and Congress out of power in the national capital.

CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat said that they will be fighting 15 seats in Delhi other than that telling there people to support the AAP in the remaining seats. They have taken this line earlier also; they have supported the BSP in the past. The main aim is to keep the Congress and BJP out, and in Delhi especially BJP

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7. The counting of votes will take place on February 10. The last day of campaigning is February 5
