Congress leader Manish Tewari said that the people wanted to teach the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) a lesson for what they called 'arrogance' and added that they used the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as an instrument to do. That is why the entire Congress votes went to AAP

Meanwhile, party leader Anand Sharma said that he hoped Kejriwal did not disappoint the people of Delhi like Prime Minister Narendra Modi disappointed the people of the country and added that they have been able to connect with the people. Delhi voters have given a strong mandate. It is a historic win for AAP. He congratulates them for it. However, the expectations will be very high.

In a setback for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP won the elections with 67 of the 70 assembly seats. The BJP, which was relying heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity, brought in former IPS officer Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate to counter Kejriwal; but could secure just three seats. The Congress, which had ruled the national capital for 15 years up to 2013 and was trying to rebuild its lost ground in Delhi, has lost in all seats.
