PACB disbursed Rs 218.95 crore crop loan to farmers in 2009-10 in Erode district

In 2009-10, a sum of Rs 218.95 crore was disbursed as crop loan to farmers through 227 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Banks (PACB) in Erode district at Tamil Nadu. Of the total amount disbursed, Rs 153 crore has been paid back by farmers through their respective PACBs of which seventy two ACBs have made cent percent recovery from farmers.

The Joint Registrar of Cooperatives PACB stated that there is sufficient stock of fertilisers and pesticides and select seeds in all PACBs. Meanwhile copra auction at Perundurai Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Society in Perunduari, Erode fetched Rs 59 lakh. A total of 1.05 lakh kg copra arrived for sale, comprising fine and second varieties.
