Cement stocks decline on announcement of hike in freight rates for cement

Cement stocks declined after the railway minister Suresh Prabhu in his Rail Budget speech announced hike in freight rates for cement by an average of 2.7 per cent. 

JK Lakshmi Cement is currently trading at Rs 343.80, down by 11.70 points or 3.29% from its previous closing of Rs. 355.50 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 353.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 354.40 and Rs. 338.05 respectively. So far 27966 shares were traded on the counter.

Ambuja Cements is currently trading at Rs. 258.95, down by 1.95 points or 0.75% from its previous closing of Rs. 260.90 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 263.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 264.00 and Rs. 255.50 respectively. So far 50542 shares were traded on the counter.

ACC is currently trading at Rs. 1636.20, down by 16.05 points or 0.97% from its previous closing of Rs. 1652.25 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 1658.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1665.25 and Rs. 1620.00 respectively. So far 12938 shares were traded on the counter.

India Cements is currently trading at Rs. 98.70, down by 0.20 points or 0.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 98.90 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 99.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 100.70 and Rs. 96.00 respectively. So far 228312 shares were traded on the counter.
