Container Corporation trades jubilantly as RBI raises FIIs limit

Container Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 1570.00, up by 81.75 points or 5.49% from its previous closing of Rs. 1488.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1505.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1586.00 and Rs. 1505.00 respectively. So far 10070 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1649.90 on 23-Feb-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 793.00 on 05-Mar-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1586.00 and Rs. 1440.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 30506.64 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.80% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.80% and 5.40% respectively.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has allowed foreign institutional investors (FIIs) to invest up to 34% of the paid-up capital in Container Corporation. RBI further advised that the foreign shareholding by FIIs/RFPIs in the company has gone below the revised threshold limit. Hence, the restrictions placed on the purchase of shares of the company are withdrawn with immediate effect.

Container Corporation of India was established in 1988 and works mainly in three verticals -- cargo terminal, terminal operator and warehouse operator.
