Oilmeals exports drop 41% to 181,996 tons in February

The total export of Oilmeals during April 2014 to February 2015 is reported at 2,229,993 tons compared to 3,933,664 tons i.e. down by 43%, as per the export data compiled by the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India for the month of February 2015. In February, 2015, export of oilmeals is reported at 181,996 tons compared to 307,260 tons in February, 2014 i.e. down by 41%. Export of soybean meal has greatly reduced in last 11 months due to total disparity for soybean meal in international market. On the other hand, the share of rapeseed meal has increased from 820,885 to 1,002,491 tons, while that of ricebran extractions export is more than doubled in last 11 months.

Oilmeal import by South Korea from India during April 2014 - February 2015 is reported at 831,967 tons compared to 1,029,967 tons; consisting 478,564 tons of rapeseed meal, 351,076 tons of castor meal and 2,327 tons of soybean meal. Iran imported 362,091 tons compared to 1,149,441 tons last year consisting of 220,300 tons of soybean meal and 141,791 tons of rapeseed meal. Thailand imported 190,639 tons compared to 311,297 tons; consisting 182,259 tons of rapeseed meal and 8,380 tons of soybean meal.

Further, Vietnam imported 281,682 tons compared to 202,072 tons last year; consisting of 67,043 tons of rapeseed meal, 18,122 tons of soybean meal, 1,449 tons of groundnut meal and 195,068 tons of Deoiled Rice Bran Extraction. Taiwan imported 68,292 tons compared to 108,606 tons last year; consisting of 31,148 tons of rapeseed meal, 24,192 tons of castor meal, 12,053 tons of soybean meal and 899 tons of groundnut meal while Europe imported 209,011 tons compared to 567,868 tons last year.
