NMDC has received the National Safety Award (Mines) for the year 2011 for its Bailadila Iron Ore Mine, Bacheli Complex in recognition of the Longest Accident Free Period. The award recognizes the company for implementing scientific methods of mining at all projects to ensure zero accidents.
The country’s largest iron ore miner has been producing more than 30 million tonne of iron ore every year from its mechanized mines at Bacheli Complex, Kirandul Complex, Kumaraswamy and Donimalai. It also operates a mechanized diamond mine at Panna, Madhya Pradesh.
NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
