NMDC commissions Bailadila iron ore deposit

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has commissioned Bailadila iron ore deposit 11B in Dakshin Bastar district of Chhattisgarh. This has a production capacity of 7 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The corporation has invested Rs 600 crore for the same.

With the launch of the new front, the production capacity of the corporation has gone up to 32 MTPA from 25 MTPA from Bailadila Sector. The new project has a 3.5-km long single flight regenerative downhill belt conveying system with horizontal and vertical curves.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
