Tata Steel produces 10 MTPA of hot metal from a single location at Jamshedpur

Tata Steel has produced 10 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of hot metal from a single location at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. With this, the company’s production stands at 10 mtpa - a growth of 63 times in capacity.

The expansion of hot metal production capacity at Tata Steel may be divided into three phases with the commissioning and up-gradation of A-E Blast Furnace between 1911 and 1952.

Tata Steel, the flagship company of the Tata group is the first integrated steel plant in Asia and is now the world’s second most geographically diversified steel producer and a Fortune 500 Company.
