IT company, Tech Mahindra has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2011.
The company has posted a fall of 46.11% in its net profit after tax to Rs 108.86 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 201.99 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 11.56% to Rs 1375.17 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1232.66 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
On the consolidated basis, the company has posted a rise of 7.38% in its net profit at Rs 276.02 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 257.05 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income has increased by 15.65% at Rs 1459.62 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1262.12 crore year ago.
Profit after tax for the quarter as well as nine months ended December 31, 2011 and 2010 are not comparable as the figures in respect of 2010 do not include share in profit of SCSL for the period October to December 2010 amounting to Rs 2,510 lakh (profit) and the profit for the nine months ended December 31, 2010 include share in SCSL for May 2009 up to March 2010 (post acquisition period) amounting to Rs 3,670 lakh (loss).
