Coal India reports 57.27 million tonnes of production in March 2015

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output, has reported provisional production of 57.27 million tonnes in March 2015, as against target of 56.87 million tonnes. The company’s total off-take for the month of March stood at 47.49 million tonnes as against a target of 50.08 million tonnes.

Meanwhile, the company has posted close to seven per cent production growth in 2014-15 to over 494 million tonnes.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
