SAIL’s unit wins Best Performing ISP award for 2011-12

Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) flagship unit - Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), has bagged the Prime Minister’s Trophy for the Best Performing Integrated Steel Plant (ISP) in the country for the year 2011-12. The Prime Minister presented the Trophy for Best Integrated Steel Plant in the country to BSP, SAIL, at Rourkela on the occasion of dedicating the modernized and expanded Rourkela Steel Plant to nation on April 01, 2015.

With this, BSP achieved the unparalleled distinction of being the only steel plant in the country, public or private, to have been selected to receive this pinnacle recognition for an unprecedented 11 times out of 21 times that the award has been given away so far.

SAIL is India's largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country's Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
