RIL trades in green on the bourses

Reliance Industries (RIL) is currently trading at Rs. 849.00, up by 6.85 points or 0.81% from its previous closing of Rs. 842.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 842.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 854.90 and Rs. 841.35 respectively. So far 246685 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1065.55 on 01-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 687.55 on 02-Jan-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 864.45 and Rs. 824.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 279399.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 44.71% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.38% and 23.47% respectively. 

RIL has shut down one of the crude trains at Jamnagar complex on February 10, 2012 for undertaking planned maintenance and inspection activities. This opportunity is being taken for replacement of catalyst and implementation of productivity improvement measures in some of the secondary processing units.

The shutdown is expected to be completed in the first week of March, 2012. However, rest of the Jamnagar complex continues to operate as normal.

The company's net profit declined by 13.6% to Rs 4,440 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, from Rs 5,136 crore in the corresponding year-ago quarter. Turnover rose by 42.39% to Rs 85,135 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 59,789 crore for the same quarter last year.
