The procurement of wheat in state of Haryana has reached 63,26,064 metric tonnes (MT) during the current rabi season, up from 61,11,470 MT up to same day last year. The state government has fixed a procurement target of 65 lakh MT this year. Out of the total arrival of 63,26,064 MT this year; 63,25,844 MT of the crop have been procured on minimum support price (MSP) and the remaining was mopped up by traders.
Over 18.72 lakh MT of wheat had been procured by the Food and Supplies Department, over 27.50 lakh MT by Hafed, over 6.57 lakh MT by Haryana Agro, more than 10.40 lakh MT by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 5,800 MT of wheat by Confed.
The district of Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival so far where over 9.34 lakh MT of wheat had arrived in the mandis, followed by Karnal with over 6.59 lakh MT.
