Videocon Group’s telecom arm to invest Rs 210 crore in Gujarat

In a bid to expand network and retail presence in the Gujarat, Videocon Telecom, part of the diversified $4 billion Videocon Group is planning to invest over Rs 210 crore in the circle in the current financial year 2015-16.

Primarily, the investment will be for its GSM services network expansion, where the telecom operator plans to deploy over 450 new cell sites of which 330 sites will be for geographical coverage expansion across 142 new towns, and another 120 sites for capacity enhancement to accommodate more users.

Videocon Industries, established two decades ago, is a global conglomerate. Videocon’s businesses consist of manufacturing, marketing and distribution of consumer electronics products and oil & gas extraction.
