Varun Shipping soars on reporting stellar Q3 numbers

Varun Shipping is currently trading at Rs. 20.85, up by 0.45 points or 2.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 20.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 22.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 22.00 and Rs. 20.70 respectively. So far 262960 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 32.85 on 07-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 15.05 on 27-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 22.00 and Rs. 18.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 315.77 crore.

Varun Shipping Company has reported results for third quarter ended December 31, 2011.

The company has posted a rise of 597.97% in its net profit at Rs 82.50 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 as compared to Rs 11.82 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However total income has decreased by 8.56% at Rs 202.89 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 221.89 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.
