Alstom sets new record with production of 200th 765kV transformer and reactor

Alstom has registered a new record in India with the 200th unit of the 765kV transformer and reactor manufactured from its world class transformer facility at Vadodara in Gujarat. Since its inception in March 2009, this green field facility has gradually ramped up its production capabilities. Currently the company has provided the highest number of 765 kV transformers and reactors for the Indian electrical grid.

Apart from Power Grid, Alstom has been supplying its world class transformers to state utilities like Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Company, Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company. Other customers include IPPsi such as Larsen & Toubro, Essar and Lanco.

Alstom T&D India is part of Alstom Grid, a global player in electrical grids. The company’s India operations account for over 13% of overall revenues garnered by Alstom Grid’s global operations. Apart from India business, other major contributors are the operations in France, the US, Germany and China.
