Tata Steel’s 100% subsidiary - Jamshedpur Utilities & Services Company (JUSCO) has bagged Gold Shield award for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector, instituted by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, for the year 2013-14 for distribution companies. The company has been recognized consistently for its performance in the power sector by the Ministry of Power since 2011. No power distribution company in Jharkhand has achieved this distinction.
National awards to power utilities for meritorious performance have been instituted by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, to inculcate competitive spirit and motivation to achieve high levels of performance. JUSCO won the Gold Shield award for outstanding performance of distribution companies for two consecutive years in 2011-12 and 2012-13 and now for 2013-14, making it a hat-trick.
