SCI gives physical delivery of one product tanker

Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has given physical delivery of its one product tanker m.t. ‘Bharatidasan' to its buyer. Recently, the company was planning to sell its two ageing vessels, a 25-year-old bulk carrier and a 20-year-old single hull tanker from its fleet of 79 ships this year.

The company has reported a loss of Rs 6.17 crore as compared to net profit of Rs 135.85 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income has decreased by 7.19% at Rs 933.47 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1005.78 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.

The company has registered growth of 50.53% in its net profit for FY11 at Rs 567.35 crore as compared to Rs 376.91 crore for FY10. Its total income has increased marginally by 3% at Rs 4019.77 crore for the year from Rs 3902.69 crore in previous year.
