IOC plans to invest Rs 15,000 crore to raise Panipat refinery capacity

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the country’s largest refiner and fuel retailer, is planning to invest about Rs 15,000 crore in increasing capacity at its Panipat refinery in Haryana by 34% to 20.2 million tonnes (MT) by 2020. The company owns and operates 8 refineries and has only a few weeks back added 9th refinery at Paradip in Odisha. Its 8 refineries have a cumulative refining capacity of 54.2 MT of crude oil and addition of 15 MT at Paradip refinery has helped the company to regain the top refiner slot in the country.

IOC is the largest enterprise in the country and the foremost ranked Fortune Global 500 Company in India and has presence in the complete hydrocarbon value chain from downstream refining & marketing, pipeline transportation, Petrochemicals, E&P and Gas Marketing.
