HUL stops sales and production of Chinese range of instant noodles: Report

11 Jun 2015 Evaluate

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has reportedly stopped sales and production of its Chinese range of instant noodles. The company has sought clearance from FSSAI and will resume sales of the products after getting approval.

As a responsible manufacturer and to reassure consumers, HUL conducted additional testing of its noodles range of products from external FSSAI approved laboratory last week. All these tests show that the Chinese noodles range of products are safe for consumption and continue to meet all regulatory norms.

Further, HUL had submitted an application with FSSAI for product approval for the Knorr Chinese range of instant noodles in February 2015 and the same is pending approval.

HUL is India’s largest fast moving consumer goods company, with leadership in Home & Personal Care Products and Foods & Beverages. HUL's brands, spread across 20 distinct consumer categories, touch the lives of two out of three Indians.
