Infosys to buy 2.6 MW of green power from OPG Power

IT major, Infosys is buying 2.6 MW of green power from Chennai-based OPG Power's 10-MW waste heat recovery plant in TN. The company wanted 4 MW, but OPG Power was able to supply only 2.6 MW. This translates to about 22 lakh units of electricity a month.

The company’s net profit for the quarter under review rose by 36.20% at Rs 2235.00 crore as compared to Rs 1641.00 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010. Its total income has increased by 33.91% to Rs 9118.00 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 6809.00 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
