Idea Cellular rises on the buzz of company’s focus on growing 3G operations

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 174.55, up by 0.85 points or 0.49% from its previous closing of Rs. 173.70 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 174.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 175.20 and Rs. 172.80 respectively. So far 39616 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 203.90 on 17-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 129.80 on 27-Jun-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 175.95 and Rs. 167.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 62844.94 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.27% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.23% and 28.50% respectively.

Idea Cellular will reportedly continue to focus on growing its 3G operations. In this regard, the Aditya Birla Group company will invest about Rs 5,500 crore in the current fiscal on its services and network expansion.

Though, in its earnings report for the fourth quarter ended March 31, India’s third-largest telecom operator was planning to launch 4G services sometime in 2016. It has 4G ready spectrum in 10 of India’s 22 circles.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level, it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
