Infosys trades in green amidst sluggish trade

Infosys is currently trading at Rs 2985.05, up by 47.85 points or 1.63% from its previous closing of Rs 2937.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 2940.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 2990.00 and Rs 2908.00 respectively. So far 88788 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 3316.85 on 13-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs 2169.00 on 25-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 29990.00 and Rs 2860.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 171404 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 16.04% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 54.85% and 15.00% respectively.

Following the similar trend were TCS up by 1.95%, Wipro up by 1.15%, HCL Technologies up by 0.46% and Financial Technologies up by 0.42% from BSE “IT” space.

IT major, Infosys will be buying 2.6 MW of green power from Chennai-based OPG Power's 10-MW waste heat recovery plant in TN. The company wanted 4 MW, but OPG Power was able to supply only 2.6 MW. This translates to about 22 lakh units of electricity a month.

The company’s net profit for the quarter under review rose by 36.20% at Rs 2235.00 crore as compared to Rs 1641.00 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010. Its total income has increased by 33.91% to Rs 9118.00 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 6809.00 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
