Petronet LNG declines as RBI bans fresh FII buying

Petronet LNG is currently trading at Rs 189.80, down by 2.00 points or 1.04% from its previous closing of Rs. 191.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 190.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 191.00 and Rs. 187.50 respectively. So far 37561 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 221.90 on 08-Jan-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 159.80 on 27-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 197.05 and Rs. 180.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14235.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 50.00 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.41 % and 22.59 % respectively.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has notified that the foreign shareholding through Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs)/Registered Foreign Portfolios Investors (RFPIs) in Petronet LNG has reached the trigger limit. Accordingly, further purchases of equity shares of this company would be allowed only after obtaining prior approval of the RBI.

Petronet LNG is one of the leading players in oil and natural gas industry space. It has India’s first and largest LNG supply terminal located at Dahej.
