Videocon Industries climbs on plan to invest $2.5 billion in Brazil

Videocon Industries is currently trading at Rs 151.75, up by 2.40 points or 1.61% from its previous closing of Rs 149.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 150.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 152.50 and Rs. 148.10 respectively. So far 34146 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 203.50 on 04-Jul-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 134.10 on 17-Jun-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 157.50 and Rs. 145.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5010.19 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.60% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.12% and 10.97% respectively.

Videocon Industries, an Indian maker of consumer electronics with ambitions to become a major energy producer, is planning to invest $2.5 billion in oil and gas ventures in Brazil over the next two to three years. The scope for oil from its blocks in the South American country is four times higher than the largest field in India.

Videocon is one of India's largest private sector enterprises having business interest in various sectors, including Oil & Gas Upstream.
