IOC gains on plan to invest Rs 1,000 crore for raising stake in CPCL

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is currently trading at Rs. 445.65, up by 0.75 points or 0.17% from its previous closing of Rs. 444.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 447.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 448.20 and Rs. 444.15 respectively. So far 21,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 449.40 on 20-Jul-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 307.00 on 13-Feb-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 449.40 and Rs. 430.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1,08,201.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.57% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.17% and 24.26% respectively.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is planning to invest Rs 1,000 crore for raising stake in Chennai Petroleum Corporation (CPCL) by subscribing to preferential issue. Shareholders of CPCL have decided to increase authorised share capital of the company from Rs 400 crore (40 crore shares of Rs 10 each) to Rs 1,400 crore.

The increased share capital would be by way of creation of 100 crore preference shares of Rs 10 each. The enhanced share capital of the company would thus comprise of 40 crore equity shares of Rs 10 each and 100 crore preference shares of Rs 10 each.

Currently, IOC holds 51.89% in CPCL, while the other promoter, Iran’s Naftiran Inter Trade Company, owns 15.40%.
