Container Corporation of India drops on reporting 21% fall in Q1 net profit

Container Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 1668.15, down by 80.65 points or 4.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 1748.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1699.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1725.00 and Rs. 1661.00 respectively. So far 9045 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1944.00 on 01-Jun-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1204.40 on 17-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1895.00 and Rs. 1661.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 32524.62 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.79% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.83% and 3.37% respectively.

The company has reported 20.99% fall in its net profit at Rs 206.90 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2015 as compared to Rs 261.88 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased by 10.95% at Rs 1500.66 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 1352.55 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014.

Container Corporation of India was established in 1988 and works mainly in three verticals -- cargo terminal, terminal operator and warehouse operator.
