Wipro surges on plan to invest more in digital technologies and start-ups

Wipro is currently trading at Rs. 587.65, up by 2.30 points or 0.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 585.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 588.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 594.00 and Rs. 575.00 respectively. So far 155727 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 676.90 on 11-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 512.55 on 24-Apr-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 588.50 and Rs. 562.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 145168.07 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.38% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 15.12% and 9.54% respectively.

Wipro is planning to invest more in digital technologies and start-ups. The company intends to make strategic investments in start-ups and train its workforce on digital skills. The company has formed a $100 million corporate Venture Capital (VC) fund to invest in start-ups focused in digital and other cutting-edge technologies.
