Asian markets are exhibiting mixed trend in the early deals on Wednesday but calm as Chinese shares were relatively steady and investors hunkered down to wait for the outcome of the US Federal Reserve policy meeting. Meanwhile, Japanese market edged down, hit by sharp falls in Fanuc Corp and Tokyo Electron after they cut their full-year forecasts, while the market awaited a policy decision from the US Federal Reserve. Among the other Asian markets, Shanghai, Malaysia and Taiwan are also lower. While South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore are higher.
Nikkei 225 declined 29.39 points or 0.14% to 20,299.50, Shanghai Composite decreased 7.74 points or 0.21% to 3,655.27, Taiwan Weighted contracted 17.05 points or 0.20% to 8,565.44 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI was down by 0.65 points or 0.04% to 1,699.05.
On the flip side, Hang Seng added 11.86 points or 0.05% to 24,515.80, KOSPI Index rose 12.46 points or 0.61% to 2,051.56, Straits Times increased 2.56 points or 0.08% to 3,283.65 and Jakarta Composite was up by 16.37 points or 0.35% to 4,731.13.
