Blue Star shuts-down its plant at Thane

Air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration major, Blue Star has closed down its plant located at Thane in the state of Maharashtra with effect from August 10, 2015. The plant has become non viable due to various reasons such as high cost of manufacturing including LBT, leading to incurring losses for the last 4 years. The company had earlier on July 28, 2015 introduced Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) for its workmen at Thane.
