Just In: July CPI eases to 3.78% v/s 5.40% in June

In an encouraging development for the economy, India’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of July came to 3.78% as compared to 5.40% in June. The figure was lower than street expectation of ‘4.48%’. CPI food inflation for July also eased substantially to 2.15% versus 5.48% in June.
