The Congress Party accused the NDA Government of messing India's foreign policy. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit expressed his disappointment with Foreign Secretary Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Prime Minister Narendra Modi  by saying that they have completely messed up the foreign policy. He also said that the government is unclear about its agenda in dealing with the Hurriyat.

Dikshit said that even in past people came from Pakistan. They met the Hurriyat leaders, and if they are changing that tactic, it should be a well thought out system. He further said that this could have been sorted out earlier, but the problem is that PM Modi and NSA Ajit Doval believe their words are law. Dikshit said that's not how diplomacy takes place. It takes place in an environment of equality and mutual dignity, but putting their point forcefully is not accepted. He further said that the government has failed on all fronts, expressing his fears of nation's Pakistan diplomacy is going to become a joke all over the world.
