Idea Cellular gains on increasing post-paid data tariffs by 20%

Idea Cellular is currently trading at Rs. 154.50, up by 0.75 points or 0.49% from its previous closing of Rs. 153.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 156.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 156.60 and Rs. 154.20 respectively. So far 48207 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 203.90 on 17-Apr-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 138.15 on 16-Dec-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 156.60 and Rs. 141.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 55708.06 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.26% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.16% and 28.58% respectively.

Idea Cellular, one of the biggest cellular carrier of the country, has hiked charges for their post-paid users by around 20 percent in various circles including the national capital. The company has raised data tariffs in Delhi, Punjab and UP West.

Post-paid customers of the operator in the above-mentioned circles will now have to pay Rs 300 for 1GB 3G data, against Rs 250 earlier for the same amount of data usage.

Idea Cellular, an AV Birla group company, provides Global System for Mobile communications (GSM)-based wireless service at the pan-India level, it is present in all 22 telecom circles.
