Tata Steel rises on plan to divest its stake in Tata Motors

Tata Steel is currently trading at Rs. 232.50, up by 2.30 points or 1.00% from its previous closing of Rs. 230.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 233.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 234.50 and Rs. 231.10 respectively. So far 176269 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 512.50 on 19-Sep-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 200.40 on 25-Aug-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 243.90 and Rs. 227.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 22357.38 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 41.11% and 25.56% respectively.

Tata Steel, based on the review of its portfolio, is proposing to sell equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each of Tata Motors to institutional investors over the stock exchange for a value not exceeding Rs 1,250 crore. The price will be discovered through a book building process.

The company also proposes to sell equity shares of face value of Rs 2 each of Tata Motors to Tata Sons around the market price through an off-market transaction for a total value not exceeding Rs 1,250 crore.
