UltraTech Cement surges on getting Environment Ministry's nod to expand capacity at Awarpur facility

Ultratech Cement is currently trading at Rs. 3018.00, up by 77.60 points or 2.64% from its previous closing of Rs. 2940.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2940.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3018.00 and Rs. 2940.40 respectively. So far 5371 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3399.00 on 04-Mar-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2299.55 on 16-Oct-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3018.10 and Rs. 2903.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 82309.50 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.69% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.29% and 11.27% respectively.

UltraTech Cement has received Environment Ministry's nod to expand capacity at its Awarpur facility in Maharasthra, which would entail an investment of Rs 248 crore.

The company has proposed to raise production of clinker, a raw material for cement manufacture, to 4.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) from the existing 3.30 MTPA, and increase cement output to 6 MTPA from 4.48 MTPA.

UltraTech manufactures and markets Ordinary Portland Cement, Portland Blast Furnace Slag Cement and Portland Pozzalana Cement.
