JSW Steel reports 13% rise in crude steel production for Feb 2012

JSW Steel’s crude steel production for February 2012 increased by 13% at 6.10 lakh tonnes against 5.41 lakh tonnes in February 2011. The company’s cumulative crude steel production for 11 months of the financial year was 6.77 million tones with a growth of 15% over previous period.

The company reported 103% increase in production of long products at 1.52 lakh tonnes in February, compared to 0.75 lakh tonnes in the corresponding month last fiscal. Output of flat products stood at 4.27 lakh tonne during the month, up 1% from 4.42 lakh tonne in February 2011.

The company reported 29% increase in production of flat products at 5.95 lakh tonnes in January 2012, compared to 4.62 lakh tonnes in corresponding month last fiscal. Output of long products stood at 1.51 lakh tonne during the month, up 65% against 0.91 lakh tonnes in the same month last fiscal.
