National Aluminium Company (Nalco) is all set to invest over Rs 65,000 crore to launch projects in the country and abroad, besides undertaking expansion and diversification into power and mining sectors in a big way.
The company is exploring countries like Oman, Iran and Indonesia to set up the proposed smelter plant with an estimated investment of Rs 20,000 crore. The smelter unit is sought to be of 5 mtpa capacity together with 150 MW captive power plant.
Nalco has the largest integrated alumina-aluminium complex of Asia. Its integrated operations cover the entire aluminium production value chain from mining bauxite, refining alumina, smelting aluminium, captive power generation to a strong logistic network in terms of rail & port facilities, coal mining and handling plant to support its operations and to become one of the most cost-efficient aluminium companies across the globe.
