Coal India trades with traction on the bourses

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 311.90, up by 2.25 points or 0.73% from its previous closing of Rs. 309.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 307.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 312.55 and Rs. 300.75 respectively. So far 65901 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 447.25 on 05-Aug-2015 and a 52 week low of Rs. 300.75 on 28-Sep-2015.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 330.00 and Rs. 300.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 195586.22 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 79.65% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.77% and 2.58% respectively.

In order to ensure production growth over the next four years, Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output, has reportedly raised its land acquisition budget by nearly two-and-a-half times to Rs 60,000 crore. The company has needed an additional 20,000 acres of land in next five years to achieve its target of 908 million tonnes. The cost of land acquisition would depend on the proposed land bill which seeks higher compensation.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
